Los Angeles, California — Plaintiff Dr. Lillie M. Coley has issued the following statement after the Honorable Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California reviewed and ruled on her recent Application for Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) in Coley v. Carter, Case No. 2:25-cv-04216-SPG-MAR.

“I want to sincerely thank Judge Garnett for taking the time to carefully review my filings and for her attention to the procedural and factual issues in this matter,” said Dr. Coley.

“I fully respect the Court’s legal process and understand its ruling under Rule 65 regarding the denial of temporary relief. ”Dr. Coley clarified that while the New Jersey proceedings included approximately 183 pages of filings, only 18 pages were submitted in California.

“If it becomes clear that statements made to the California court differ from filings or actions in New Jersey — particularly concerning modification or venue — I will promptly inform the Court. Honesty and accuracy are cornerstones of justice.

”Dr. Coley also underscored her commitment to transparency and judicial integrity: Regarding record management, Dr. Coley reaffirmed that she will not request the sealing of any documents believed to contain fraudulent or misleading material. Instead, privacy matters will be addressed through appropriate redactions, ensuring transparency for both the Court and the public.

“This case is about fairness, truth, and accountability,” Dr. Coley said. “I remain committed to openness before both the Court and the community.”
